mocha for Final Cut is a stand alone 2D tracking and rotoscoping tool designed for the Final Cut Studio community. It is packed with features that help editors and VFX artists tackle more complex jobs and enable them to finish projects within Final Cut.
Tracking
mocha for Final Cut generates solid 4-point tracks based on Imagineer's unique Planar Tracking technology, giving position, scale, rotation, shear and perspective matched tracks and exports the data to Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express as XML files.
Rotoscoping
mocha for Final Cut can export mocha shape data, allowing rotoscoping shapes with variable, per-point edge feathering to be imported into Final Cut. Combined with mocha shape FxPlug for Final Cut, users now have the ability to isolate color correction and effects within the Final Cut timeline!
NOTE: You will need to purchase the mocha shape for Final Cut FxPlug to import the mocha shape data into Final Cut.

Finishing
Final Cut Studio users can optionally send their mocha tracking data to Apple Motion for advanced compositing functionality.

- I already own mocha for Final Cut, do I need to upgrade?
mocha for Final Cut v2 is a free upgrade and your license does not need to be updated. mocha shape FxPlug for Final Cut is a new product and does need to be purchased and licensed separately. - Can I export tracking for use on another Final Cut system?
Yes, you can export the tracking data as XML files, which you can then import into Final Cut on another system. Any Final Cut system with mocha shape FxPlug can import the shape data. - What versions of Final Cut are supported?
The tracking data exported can be used in Final Cut Pro 6 and Final Cut Express 4.
To Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Express 4. - Can track data be imported directly into Apple Motion?
No, currently the workflow is to import mocha for Final Cut XML data into Final Cut, then send the sequence to Motion. Transformation, scale, rotate and corner pin key frames will all translate. mocha shape imports do need to be rendered in Final Cut before sending to Motion.
